The Work Study Program is a federally supported program intended to stimulate and promote part-time student employment, particularly students from low-income families, who are in need of earnings from such employment to pursue courses of study at institutions of higher education. The federal government allocates funds annually to the UCLA Financial Aid Office for this purpose. Work Study on-campus employers may include academic departments, administrative offices, laboratories and other student support offices such as UCLA Housing & Hospitality Services. Eligibility for Work Study

The UCLA Financial Aid Office is responsible for determining students’ financial need and eligibility for Work Study funds. To be considered for Work Study funding, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 2nd of every year for the upcoming academic year. Students MUST review and be familiar with the Student Guide to the Federal Work Study Program that provides the conditions governing participation in the program. The UCLA Work Study Job bulletin posted on myUCLA, has a current listing of approved Work Study jobs. This website is updated daily and provides you with contact information for each job posting to either email or call the employer. Although you are not guaranteed a job, we encourage you to look early and often in order to be more likely to obtain one.
